Here's your basic information for a similar question I answered earlier today... Metal is gold plated, ceramic can be different things, black, silver or gold plated. Metal is specifically gold and ceramic tends to have different colors. Chi tends to be the exception... Ceramic is better because they add moisture and shine back into the hair sealing the cuticles shut.. metal just fries the hair and ends up opening the cuticle making it dull and not shiny and gives it a flat appearance...
