I just bought some hair straighteners...?

I've never used hair straighteners before, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. After a few second of being turned on, the LED light flickers on %26amp; off. Is that normal to show that they've reached optimum temperature or something? Or is it probably a fault?

Also, I'm quite scared of touching the inside of the straighteners or burning my scalp (I'm straightening my fringe). How badly does it hurt? Thanks.I just bought some hair straighteners...?
Okay, when your doing bangs, straighten it pulling away horizontally from you. Put your hand on your forehead, so the hot hair falls on your hand not your forehead, and it wont hurt. Just be careful not to put the irons too close, and sont have them too hot.

I think the light flickers until it is hot and ready, then the light should stay on constant. They are VERY hot, so be careful. they are really damaging to use on your hair too, so you should maybe use something on your hair to protect it after you towel dry and before you straighten it. Just slide it over hair, don't stay on it, cause it will burn it. Get regular hair trimming, cause these things cause split ends a lot.
the LED light flickering does mean that has heated up to the required temperature. dont touch the plates with your fingers it will hurt! when you straighten your fringe just be careful and try not to go too close to your scalp. once you get used to using them you will know how to do it and how close to go. good luck!

ive never actually burnt my head but i have burnt my hand on my straighteners and it does hurt a lot!!!!
The LED on the new GHD's flickers when they are the right temperature.

Don't touch the insides because it will burn you badly. Watch what you're doing carefully in the mirror until you feel comfortable with using the straighteners and make sure they are at right angles to your scapl so that the hot part doesn't touch your skin. Once you get used to using them, it's easy, it just takes practise.

Have fun!
A flickering LED light means they are fully heated and ready to use, I have GHD ones and they flicker once they are heated.

Yeah i wouldnt recommend touching the inside of the straightner either. and it doesnt hurt if you do it correctly.

Just keep it away from your face and when straightening your fringe straighten it out not down towards your face.

Take care

i think some straightners do flash to tell you they are the right heat but with out knowing the make of them its hard to tell remember to use heat protection spray when using your straightners on your hell it will save your hair from getting burnt

straightning your hair will not hurt unless you put the irons to close to your scalp then you will burn your self remember small sections of hair gets better results
My straightener blinks until it get to the temp that you set it to.

Just don't let it get to hot and you won't have to worry about burning yourself.
mine flicker when they are at the correct temp.you wont burn your scalp but watch your ears and fingers.thats what i usually burn.once you get the hang of them they're pretty easy to use.
