My straightener reads120-240V AC 60Hz 70W. I have an adapter can I just plug it into that? Will I burn the place down? Can I use my hair straightener in france?
Since it reads 120-240V, it will adapt to the voltage there on its own once you plug it in. I recently used mine while on vacation in France, one that reads like yours, and it was fine. You do, however, want to attach the French plug fitting onto your current plug prongs. That way, you will be able to plug your straightener into the wall just fine. Do not use a voltage converter in addition to this. Can I use my hair straightener in france?
If it is an american appliance, you will need a transformer. Plugging 110 based things into 220 will cause them to catch fire.
