you should minimize the amount of times you straighten your hair, like if you're not going anywhere then dont straighten it and on some school days you can just put your hair up in a ponytail. you can also just buy a new straightner. my hair is just like yours it sounds like, b/c my hair is naturally straight but its so thick so it looks like a poof ball. so i always straighten my hair to make it look thinner. i have a straightener thats made by a company called jilbere. its really really good. its titanium and i can straighten my hair in like 20 minutes. thats saying something b/c my hairs really long too.My hair straighteners! make my hair smell burnt please help!!!?
Leave your hair natural.
oh i hope you.re not using products like hairsprays and serum b4 you use your straighteners cos they would make it burn and break, its important to use heat protective sprays b4 u straighten and serum after!
i also use hair straighteners every day and find that the tresseme hair straightening spray is great! put it on before you straighten it and also spray a bit once you have done it. helps to stop them ruining your hair because it stops your hair drying out x
If you are heating your hair to 230 degrees, then it is gonna burn!!
the smell of burning hair is common with heat tools. after lots of use, the plates on the hair straightener itself will begin to smell and when you use it to straighten your hair, the smell just transfers to your hair. you should clean the plates, if possible, and decrease the temperature that you're heating them to.
Sweetie!... let me tell u.. i myself straighten my hair too.. and i had that problem as well.. and it's soley due to the fact that you have the heat up too high!... lower it.. and take yout time.
Try using a straightening protecting spray. This will help the effects of burning and damage to your hair. It will probably go in time as the straighteners are new.
the straitener is to hot. stop killing your hair
maybe you have the heat too high or you need to buy a new straightener. It is really bad to straighten your hair everyday, you are damaging your hair and stressing it out. if you are not careful, it could all fall out (has happened to a couple of girls i know). Also straight hair shouldn't make you look pretty, you are probably just a pretty girl. you might want to go to a professional stylist once a month to treat your hair and ask them how to keep your hair straight permanently. I suggest you leave your hair in it's natural state, it's more healthy that way.
turn them down if u can
What products do you use in your hair when you are about to straighten it? Is your hair completly dry??? I use to have the remington straightner, but I got rid of it and got me a titanium and it does sooo much better!! You should try it!
let me know how it goes!
best of luck

Buy a good heat protective spray, i did and i havnt looked back!! Makes hair feel alot better condition too !
I use pantene heat protect - you just spray on just before you straighten!
You need to use hair stightening products on your hair, not only do they protect your hair from the heat but they also take away that awfull smell whilst staighting your hair.Theres plenty to choose from and you just spray onto the hair before starting to straighten. Most chemists etc sell them aswell as your salon.
because it IS burning your hair....
use a protective product to shield it from the heat and use a lower heat setting.
Put loads of heat protector on!!!!
I recomend Tressemme Heat Protector, it protects your hair and makes it shiny and soft (smells nice too!)
If that doesn't work then ask a hairdresser.
Hope that helpd! x
get the h2pro hair straightener
it goes up to 450 degrees but doesnt make your hair smell bad
its UH-mazing and you can even straighten your hair when it is soaking wet
1. i think your burning your hair, which is why is smells burned?
2. becareful with your hair, its thick! thick hair is really important! some people are dying to have thick hair, so becareful with it.
I recommend the Wigo Jade Straightener.... it is FANTASTIC!
I have the same problem. I would recommend using a product that protects your hair from heat. I also put a dab of nice smelling conditioner the section of hair i just straightened, and then spray perfume in it when I'm done. Also, if you are using the same shampoo you use every day, it might just be you smelling the burnt smell. I got used to the smell of my shampoo and couldn't smell it anymore, and all I could smell was the burnt smell. However, when i asked others (who definitely would have told me the truth) they said it smelled great and smelled just like my shampoo, so there ya go. Hope I helped.
Use a heat resistant spray - that might help.
Protect it with serum or something specifically for straightening. Toni and guy do a spray for straightening that my m8 has which is really good.
You need to reduce the heat tepature on your straightners and also use a heat defense spray as this will help you should straighting your hair in smaller sections this way you want need to have the temperture so high good luck
Are you using a serum or heat resistant spray in your hair before using the straighteners? You really need to do that,as not using it will cause your hair to burn and become damaged.
if your hair smells burnt then you are leaving the straightener to long on your hair. Chi is the best straightener. try straightening smaller parts of your hair so that it straightens faster and it wont be as damaged.
u do know ur damaging ur hair when u do that.. leave ur hair the way it is!! ur hair is goinog to look sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooougly and damaged if u use a staighter..
Hi some do this I notice i could smell that it smelt burnt when it was a cold day and i come in from out side. I just got some ghds and they dont do this to me, or it could be i use a heat protection spray. I use the ADSA one it smells of apples and you can spray it on dry hair before you straigten it so maybe this will work for you. I dont know what else you can so other than change your hair straigtners.
Are you new to straightening your hair? It always stinks after straightening it. My sisters does, my girlf's does. Watch your speed, and how much pressure you're applying, I think is the only advice I've ever picked up. Having a skin-head, I cant be much more use I'm afraid! Goodluck ;-)
It is good to use a serum, try Kerastase, it is pricey but works great. Also the best straightners are either by Elchim or Chi, they are both great, i use to work at a salon and that was what they were using.
heat protection spray and lots of it! also clean ur straighteners before turning them on just with a clean damp cloth, jst to remove anything on them. also when straightening ur hair make sure u done over use them, pass the straighteners through the hair slowly but not too slowly ( try not to let it give off the steam ) and only do that oce or twice on same section.
you could try leaving it natural, im sure it looks alright. Or use a hair protector befor you straighten it. Use Charles worthington, its what i use. it smells nice and leaves your hair with a natural shine
