Do Hair Straighteners damage hair?

I've been using a hair straightener for the first time, everyday for a week straight, and I don't think I see any signs of damage.

It's still soft and not brittle...

I still do my normal routine of shampoo and blow drying my hair...so when is this ';damage'; supposed to start? in a month? a year???

btw i have straight asian hair.Do Hair Straighteners damage hair?
Yeah it fries it and you start getting bad split ends and then it starts breaking off. No, you are not going to see damage right away, it will take a few months but regular trims will get rid of the damaged ends anyway. I've been straightening mine for years and years and the worst I had (until recently) was a few split ends, but it depends on your hair type. I have fine hair and its kind of dry from being dyed so while I used to have minimal damage from my straightener before I dyed it, now the ends of my hair break off. Its not a big deal, and you can't tell unless you look at my sink, but its annoying. My hair is still soft and shiny, no brittleness, but the tips don't have the same luster as the rest of my hair because they're dry.Do Hair Straighteners damage hair?
well ur a guy right?

if ur a guy, it doesnt really matter.

im an asian guy too and i use it every day as well. even tho i use like high heat, nothin ever happens. my hairs still black and normal. ur hair mite be drier, as in less oily, but i consider that a good thing cuz i hate oily hair.

and since ur a guy, u prob get a haircut like once a month sooo even if ur hair gets ';damaged';, it'll get cut off anyways.

but if ur a girl, i wuldnt recommand straightening everyday. if a girl, prob straighten it permanently once a month at a salon.
Of course you are going to damage your hair. If you need to straighten or blow-dry every day, you have the wrong hair cut.

Your hair will have split ends in a couple of months. To minimize this, use a heat protector.
Yes They Do. Buy Some Heat Protection Spray To Help Your Hair A Little Bit. They Signs Will Come Like Split Ends And They Will Look Blondeish. So If You Start Seein That Cut Your Tips So It Wont Grow All Over Your Hair.
yeah they do if you use them everyday, you can buy spray stuff that helps protect your hair from the heat but will still allow your hair to get straight
yeah hair straighteners do damage hair though you won't have any signs of damage for about a few months BUT it depends on how much and how long you straighten your hair
well yes, its better to use hair protection spray
