Can I use my hair straightener if the ceramic plate it chipped a bit?

today, my straightener fell off my dresser and the bottom corners of the plates chipped off and I'm not sure if I should still use it? Does anyone know what happens if a chipped straightener is used?

You could probably still use it, but be careful because it might snag your hair.
