What is the proper way to put down a hair straightener (flat iron)?

Should it be on its side or its back?What is the proper way to put down a hair straightener (flat iron)?
You should put it down on its back, when putting it down on the side the edge tends to burn things, trust me! ive had past experience. Hope i helped :-)

I guess i what matters the most is if the surface is flammable or not.


I have a large tin case and i put it down any way, that way iIdont risk anything getting burned.
I put mine on the side.
