How come my hair straightener doesn't heat up as fast as it used to?

I've had it for 4 months. It's a Remington TStudio 1 inch Nanosilver Ceramic Straightener. I bought it because my old Remington 2 inch wet2dry wore down and turned into a piece of junk. That thing would take wayy too long to heat up. But now my newer one takes JUST as long! When I first got it, it was fine..





Why is this? and what can I do?How come my hair straightener doesn't heat up as fast as it used to?
The brand wears out really fast.

i used tohave really long curly hair, so i invested in some on my 16th birthday, and i havent looked back since, now i have cool funky hair as most people say, ghds are pricey but i picked mine up from ebay for nearly 拢90 inc p%26amp;p





maybe cheaper than buying new straightners , i swear by them and mine will be 2 years old in august and still work fine
