I have very cury hair and have never straightened it, something I've always wanted to do. I'm thinking about using a Japanese hair straightener and wondering if it is safe and how long will it last.Should I use a Japanese hair straightener on my super curly hair?

No use a CHI hair straighteners they last a long time, if you don't shower but use heat protectant, I learned the hard way and Im still trying to take care of it, but it works like wow! I love it and it is actually real ceramics but it cost alot of money but was worth it.
If you have really curly, tight curly hair, and live where its humid, good luck.you could fry, like burn your hair trying.get a flat iron and spray.
i dunno about japanese hair straightener but if you really want a good hair job, try going to a professional and let him/her straighten your hair.It will cost you but hopefully, the results will be good.
I completely recommend the Japanese straightener. I've been having them done for about 2 years. My hair is shoulder length and it takes about 3-4 hours to do my hair. This can be very pricey since most places charge for it by the hour. I'm lucky. My best friend is my stylist!!! My hair is actually starting to not grow out curly finally.
Before I had this done I had tried all the products and just a flat iron. This tops everything. Before I would just end up with a great big fuzz ball on top of my head. Only problem is it takes alot longer for the effects to go away than it does for a perm to loose it's curl. You may end up with curly roots and straight ends if you don't maintain it.
Good luck
I've gotten a Japanese thermal straightening treatment to fix a bad perm and it was incredible! My hair literally dried straight without a blow dryer and brushing! It lasts as long as your hair grows out. I think you would need to maintain it every 4-6 months.
It's expensive ($150-$300/treatment), but I think it's worth it if you truly want straight hair. You should have a consultation with a hair stylist to determine how your hair would look/react with the treatment and how often you would need to maintain it.
yes you should
