Is there a way to make a hair straightener work better?

I bought a Vidal Sassoon hair straightener, but my hair is very thick and frizzy. It makes my hair wavy, but doesn't get it straight. I can't buy another one, so is there a way to make this one work better? I already use the highest setting. Maybe putting something on my hair before straightening? Any advice is appreciated! Is there a way to make a hair straightener work better?
I don't have any trouble straightening my hair because of my hair type, but everyone is different so everyone needs different hair products. If you experiment with different gels or flat iron spray (that's why my mom uses and she has frizzy hair) I am sure you will find something that works out great and you wont have to buy a new straightener..if you do however keep the receipt so you can take it back if necessary!!

Good luck!!Is there a way to make a hair straightener work better?
I suggest trying matrix sleek look products, I have very thick hair that is wavy. The matrix sleek look iron spray works great on thick wavy hair, definately helps to straighten mine.

Also the matrix sleek looks conditoner is great too....also a straightening shampoo or straightening balm might help also.

I really suggest the Matrix sleek look iron spray though.,,,,its awesome and works great!!!!!

Also after you straighten your hair to get rid of the frizz I use shine serum works wonders girl...Good Luck.
when your in the shower after you wash your hair bursh it while its wet, then blow dry it straight, as in hold the hairdryer above your head and let the heat flow in a downward direction, this will make it less frizzy and much straighter, then add heat protection and maybe a straightening sirem , then straighten.
Maybe you should try a CHI Flat iron. They are the best and too me work wonderful on all hair types from relaxed to natural. I am a cosmetology student so I work with so many different hair textures and I find that the CHI irons give me great results.
You bought a crappy flat iron, thats why it does not work well for you. With your hair type you should get one that heats up to 450 degrees. Try straightening your hair in one inch sections at a time.
get different hair products
get new one
