I use a damp washcloth and it comes off pretty easily. Make sure the straightener is off and completely cooled.How to remove residue on hair straightener?
while it's cool use some rubbing alchohol that usually takes off anything!

try some witch hazel and a cotton swab
its like alcohol but more mild
probably with a wet towel
I usually just take a pair of scissors and just scrape away. Good luck!
