It still makes my hair really straight and works really good, but I'm concerned that it might be ruining my hair.There's a kind of burnt smell to it. It's not too bad though, my past hair straighteners always had a burnt smell. Is it okay to still use is without the coating on the plates? There is no way I can return it to the company because I got it off ebay.Is it okay to still use my GHD hair straightener even though the coating on the plates is coming off?
The coating shouldn't be coming off the plates on genuine GHD straighteners as they are solid ceramic. Are you sure you bought genuine ones? If not, and they smell of burning, I wouldn't use them at all.
